Due to Political issues the Cape to Cairo Route (+- 9000km) has not been possible for several years. So dad and I took to the road for 10472km to visit Lake Malawi and Lake Tanganyika. The route took us up the Eastern Side of Botswana, via Chobe into Zambia with a brief stop at Victoria Falls. From there along the Great East Road to the West Coast of Malawi. At the top of the lake we turned west, back into Zambia to the Southern Shores of Lake Tanganyika. The route home took us along the Great North Road, down the Western Side of Botswana, via Augrabies Falls, back to Cape Town
A 5585km Father and Son overland trip via the Sani Pass and the Roof Of Africa in Lesotho, to Mozambique and Swaziland… with a week spent at Tofo Beach, and exploring the surrounding areas

At the beginning of March, Dad and I headed east to take on the Baviaans World Heritage Site 4×4 trail. Our timing was good to catch some swell In Jeffreys Bay before entering the trail from the Patensie side. After exiting the Baviaanskloof at Willowmore we wound our way back to Cape Town via the Meiringspoort Pass, Swartberg Pass and the Kruis Rivier Pad covering a total distance of 1633km.
This time Dad and I teamed up with the boys for 7 days. 4 vehicles departed Cape Town for the trip, and two of those limped back broken. We spent a night at Draaihoek Plaas Kamp and Port Nolloth before entering the Richtersveld. Once in the Richtersveld we drove via Halfmens and Akkedis passes for our first night at De Hoop Camp and then on to our second night at Kokerboom Kloof. On our third day in the park, we left via the Helskloof pass before entering the Namaqua 4×4 trail for an overnight at Tierhoek. Leaving Tierhoek the following day, we took on the Holgat River 4×4 trail to Port Nolloth and onto our last night at Hondeklip Bay. The trip covered a total distance of 1885km.
